The Nest will provide you with a cosy, comfortable base to explore the surrounding area. Relax and unwind.
Everything you need can be found on the ground floor: a large double bed, bedside table, two reclining chairs and footstools, TV, radio, Wif-fi connection, a beautifully crafted kitchen area. Breakfast provisions included. A cosy place to relax and unwind in with an outdoor seating area.
The kitchen area has an oak worktop, fridge, dishwasher, butler sink, hob, Lakeland Sage oven, toaster, kettle & crockery etc. Breakfast provisions included: Milk & bread of your choice. Croissant, eggs, cereals, porridge, butter, Flora, jams, marmalade, orange juice, tea & coffee are all included.
Shower room, loo, wash basin and a small heated towel rail.
Towels and shower mat are provided.
The entrance lobby provides you with plenty of hooks for outdoor wear and for hanging clothes.

The upstairs part of 'The Nest' provides an additional space & enables friends to be able to holiday together but have their own sleeping space. Alternatively for couples who prefer to avoid their partner's fidgeting or snoring! A single bed wiith a comfortable 25cm mattress, bedside table , lamp and tub chair. Carpeted and with a Velux window for ventilation and light, plus a blackout blind.
A chess set, board games and puzzles can be found in the extra upstairs area too.

'The Nest' has its own entrance to the side of the house (green door pictured), accessed via the wooden gate.
There is parking for one guest car on the gravel driveway.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility. Sit outside, listening to the birds singing. A real sun-trap which is enclosed for those who wish to bring a 4-legged friend!

There are plenty of things to see and do even in the depths of winter. The National Trust Bodiam Castle is within easy walking distance approximately 0.8 miles away. Follow the footpath or walk along the lanes. A beautiful place to visit whatever the weather. The Wharf tea-room overlooks the river, with views across the Rother Valley.

Bodiam Station is also within easy walking distance. The Kent and East Sussex Railway run a limited service during the winter months, mostly at the weekends.
Why not take a trip to Tenterden on a steam train and enjoy browsing around the shops there or having lunch or afternoon tea.
Rye is approximately 25 minutes away. A lovely place to mooch around in all weathers. A number of independent shops with plenty of places to eat. The Mermaid Inn, steeped in history, over 600 years old, is a 2 AA rosette Restaurant.
Film fan - why not enjoy a trip to the Kino Cinema in Rye.
Camber Sands is a beautiful stretch of sandy beach - lovely in the winter months.

Enjoy walking around Bedgebury Pinetum. Explore the forest (walking or cycling). A calm, tranquil, peaceful place to visit in all seasons and in all weathers. Have a bite to eat in the café or enjoy the scenery sitting on a picnic bench beside one of the lakes watching the wildlife around you.
Bedgebury Pinetum and Forest can be found shortly off the A21 (approximately 20 minutes away).

Great Dixter House and Gardens are only a short distance away in Northiam. A must for garden lovers!
Pashley Manor Gardens in Ticehurst is well renowned for its tulip festivals, roses, dahlias and sculptures. It also has a café and gift shop.
Why not visit Merriments Gardens (Hawkhurst Road, Hurst Green) with a 4-acre RHS Partner Garden, shop, restaurant and a good range of plants to get tempted by. A must to return home with a plant, for garden lovers!
You may want to pop into Ed's Nursery in Staplecross, a neighbouring village to Ewhurst Green, which offers good quality and value plants too.

Hole Park in Rolvenden is a lovely place to visit and has a stunning show of bluebells in the spring, with a tea room too.

Enjoy walking? Feeling energetic? Why not enjoy a tranquil walk around the trails surrounding the reservoir at Bewl Water (approx. 12 1/2 miles). Bewl Water is the largest reservoir in the South-East of England and has 800 acres of parkland. Loved by those who enjoy: walking, cycling, fishing & water sports. Alternatively, just take a gentle stroll and a bite to eat at the café afterwards.
The Kino Cinema in Hawkhurst has one screen and the Kino in Rye has two screens. Both are small cinemas with places to eat/drink and relax in before the start of the film. Hawkhurst is just 10 minutes away and has a Waitrose, Tesco, butchers, chemist, a few small shops, a petrol station and several pubs including 'The Eight Bells' on The Moor, Hawkhurst , The Queen's Inn bar and restaurant and The Great House, a restaurant in Gill's Green, Hawkhurst.
A little further afield is Dungeness. Pictured is the Old Lighthouse which is a Grade 2 listed building, opened in 1904 and decommissioned in 1960. It is approximately 46 metres high and was constructed with over 3 millions bricks with sandstone inner walls (Opens again in February 2024). The new lighthouse is only a short distance away.
There is a dog friendly café/restaurant, close by, called 'The End of the Line' for those with or without a 4-legged friend. The Pilot pub, famous for their fresh fish and chips, is also dog friendly.
Dungeness, is a bit like Marmite, you will either love it or hate it! It is unique, desolate, scattered with wooden houses, the old and the new lighthouse, large areas of shingle and the decommissioned power stations. Many photo shoots and some filming has been taken at Dungeness. Dungeness also has a National Nature Reserve, home to 600 species of plants.
The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway is another must, together with the Kent and East Sussex Railway, for heritage railway enthusiasts or those who simply enjoy a gentle journey through the countryside.
